unrealized artworks 2007
Csaba Nemes has made a series of short animation films addressing the street disturbances around the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution last year. He both used documentary material and created his own stories. Nemes applied for the Hungarian Pavilion in Venice this year with this project, and was selected and announced in the press as the winner. The next day this decision was withdrawn with unclear explanations of formal incompetence.
The ten animation films realised for the exhibition and the website (www.remake.hu) began with the aim to create a discussion around the topic of the exhibition, and were supported by tranzit.hu in the framework of the open call “Unrealised Artwork 2007”.
