roundtable discussion on documenta 12
In the framework of the documenta 12 study trip supported by tranzit. hu and ACAX – Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange, Zsuzsa László art theorist and Nóra Somlyódy cultural journalist spent one month in Kassel and informed the Hungarian public on their common blog – http://documenta-12.freeblog.hu – about their experiences and on the actual events in Kassel. The online magazine Exindex is part of the documenta magazines project, and Balázs Beöthy, co-editor, also took part in a workshop in Kassel in connection with the magazine project.
The documenta 12 had a large number of visitors, but also received numerous critical comments. The discussion will focus on the reception of documenta 12, the expectations, realisation and the tension between the three topics of the exhibition (Modernity? Life! Education). The participants will discuss their experiences and ideas from different perspectives.
