Cristina David, artist (Bucharest), whose works were recently exhibited in Shedhalle in Zürich and participated in the tranzit.org section of Manifesta 8, will present her recent projects and films on April 14, 6 p.m. in Labor (Budapest, V. kerulet, Kepiro u.6.)
Cristina David started her artistic training at the Art Academy in Bucharest and completed her MDA at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts in Norway. Between 1998 and 2000 she studied at the Faculty of Mathematics in Bucharest, but as she puts it: “Unfortunately I forgot most of the things I learned during that period. “ Earlier in her career, she had a short period of self-introspection, but she felt quite uncomfortable with it, so she has now done with that. She now combines scientific facts with art, and she is enthusiastic of what she is discovering. Her works are often humorous. Video is still the most comfortable media for her, even if lately the temptation for installations has made her try some of those as well (biography from the Manifest 8 catalogue).
